A Rainy Thursday Twist

Lately, I’ve found myself in the deep end of the thought pool, splashing around in reflections like some kind of philosophical dolphin. You know how it is — you reach a certain point in life, and suddenly, everything feels like it’s up for review, as if the universe handed you a cosmic audit checklist. When you're in a situation like mine, there’s this magnetic pull toward introspection. I mean, the idea of reinventing oneself — that shiny, daunting possibility — starts tugging at your mind like an overenthusiastic puppy. And then, of course, comes the million-dollar question: Do I have the courage (and maybe the caffeine) to actually dive into this whole "transformation" thing? Honestly, right now, I’m not entirely sure if I’m ready to jump off that metaphorical cliff into the swirling abyss of the unknown. I kind of like the cozy edge, drinking coffee or sipping  and looking down at the brave souls leaping below. But then, I remember this poster I had on my wall as a te...

A Monday Morning Twist

This Monday morning brings with it a whirlwind of thoughts, and I can't say I'm particularly satisfied with how things are progressing in my online work. It's a bit discouraging, to be honest. There's a book I've been working on, and I'm really aiming to have it ready for publication by the end of October. It's been quite the journey, filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety as I try to finalize everything.  Now, I have a two-part question that's been on my mind. Is there a way for me to put myself out there more often? I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a podcast. It feels like an interesting avenue to explore, and who knows? It might just give me the exposure I need.  As I put these thoughts into the universe, I really hope anyone reading this is managing to stay afloat and doing alright in their own endeavors. Just a new Monday morning twist

A Sunday Twist

There are numerous developments taking place in my life right now. One significant aspect is that I have recently submitted my manuscript to an editor, which is both an exhilarating and nerve-wracking experience. This particular project feels quite different from anything I have done before, and I am hopeful that the feedback will help me refine my work further. Additionally, I am faced with various job-related decisions that have been weighing on my mind. The online platforms I have been utilizing for my professional growth have not been meeting my expectations. I find myself contemplating what my next steps should be moving forward. Amidst all of this, I am genuinely excited about trying my hand at writing. While I am fully aware that I may not become a literary giant like J.K. Rowling, the aspiration to write has always been a cherished dream of mine. As I stand on the brink of this new venture, I am curious to see where it might lead. There are certain online media opportunities I ...

A Mid Week Twist

At this moment, my life is filled with a multitude of projects and concerns that occupy my thoughts and drive my actions. I have embarked on a journey into the world of self-publishing, a path that excites me despite the uncertainty of the outcome. While I do not harbor the expectation of achieving the level of success experienced by authors like J.K. Rowling, I have always felt a persistent urge to express myself, particularly regarding the profound themes of grief and loss. This interest has propelled me forward, and I find myself evolving and transforming at this stage of my life. It is a reminder that we are all, in essence, ongoing projects, constantly developing and reshaping ourselves. While I appreciate the opportunity to work from home, I cannot help but miss the vibrant energy that characterized my time at the clinic. The hustle and bustle of that environment created an atmosphere filled with activity, which is markedly different from the quieter pace of my current work life....

A Sunday night twist!

I have realized that I need to pay more attention to this blog, particularly if I want to establish a strong online presence. Since retiring in June, I have found myself in a period of adjustment as I navigate this new phase of life. One of the significant challenges I’ve encountered is figuring out a daily schedule that works for me. I had hoped that engaging  working online therapy on one platform would provide the support I need, but unfortunately, that experience hasn’t met my expectations, leaving me feeling somewhat adrift. In addition to this, I am working on a book project aimed at self-publishing, which has been both exciting and daunting. As I embark on this journey, I often catch myself questioning whether I made the right decision by choosing to retire. There are moments when I feel a profound sense of loss, particularly when I reflect on the social interactions and the camaraderie that I enjoyed with my colleagues in the office. Recently, I made a visit back to my form...

A Snowy Tuesday Twist

There  was snow in NYC  this morning!  Certainly not the amount of snow thats in  Buffalo or the Midwest,  but  we have been in  a snow drought here.  The snow was  welcome news for me.  I appreciated looking at it fall and cover the ground. I think there is comfort in the first snowfall.  Perhaps it brings me back to some childhood memories when the weather was at least consistent.  As a child, I remember  thinking I can smell the snow coming.  I remembering thinking how white the night sky was.  I remember being excited and running to look at the window at the snow covered street.   If I was lucky they announced on the radio my school was closed. ( I also remember walking to school  in snowstorms...we were tough back then, we trudged to school wearing , a winter coat,  a plaid uniform jumper, plastic red snow boots. ( Did I mention  bare legs?) Some of those mem...

A Twist for Pepper

A Twist for Pepper Well, so far it has not been the year I was hoping for.   Yesterday we had to euthanize my oldest cat, Pepper. She was around 14.  Thats a cause for argument here on exactly hold old she was, but nonetheless she was my oldest girl.  My other cats I have,  bullied  her  a lot. She  tended to stay in my room or home office.  She would jump up on my desk and be rather insistent  about it.  I will miss her head bumps for sure.  We shared the same birthday.  She preferred staying alone, but  at Christmas;  she spent a great deal of time staying by the family.  My youngest daughter mused if she was giving us some extra time with her before she crossed the rainbow bridge. Our fury friends. add so much to our lives.   They enrich it with love.  Studies that a cats purring help our blood pressure to go down and ease anxiety. Grief with a pet is different, at least...
