A Sunday night twist!

I have realized that I need to pay more attention to this blog, particularly if I want to establish a strong online presence. Since retiring in June, I have found myself in a period of adjustment as I navigate this new phase of life. One of the significant challenges I’ve encountered is figuring out a daily schedule that works for me. I had hoped that engaging  working online therapy on one platform would provide the support I need, but unfortunately, that experience hasn’t met my expectations, leaving me feeling somewhat adrift.

In addition to this, I am working on a book project aimed at self-publishing, which has been both exciting and daunting. As I embark on this journey, I often catch myself questioning whether I made the right decision by choosing to retire. There are moments when I feel a profound sense of loss, particularly when I reflect on the social interactions and the camaraderie that I enjoyed with my colleagues in the office. Recently, I made a visit back to my former workplace, and it was eye-opening; it was the first time I had returned since leaving, and it brought up a wave of emotions.

I think I am still in the process of grieving the significant change in my lifestyle, adjusting to a quieter existence without the daily hustle and bustle of an office environment. The memes and jokes about hating one’s job that once resonated with me seem to lose their impact now that I’m no longer in that position. I find that maintaining self-discipline in my daily routine has become a challenge, as my motivations can sometimes wane without the structure of a traditional job.

Despite these hurdles, I continue to move forward. I’ve come to accept that I don’t always fully understand the paths I take in life, but I persist in walking them nonetheless. This experience has encouraged me to recommit to this blog, promising myself once again to be present here more often. It is important for me to harness this space and use it to reflect on my journey, share my thoughts, and connect with others as I navigate this new chapter.

A New Years Eve Twist

I think the plan was for a Christmas twist.  However; Covid reared its ugly head  in my office and then in my home,  It has been a challenging week.  I guess each holiday season has its own story to tell in our lives.    The stories never follow a Hallmark movie script though,  it I s important to remember that. A quiet New Year's Eve here,  except for the outside fireworks (already at 7 pm)  terrorizing my dog. I am reflecting that this year has been a mixed bag. A Mid Week Twist

At this moment, my life is filled with a multitude of projects and concerns that occupy my thoughts and drive my actions. I have embarked on a journey into the world of self-publishing, a path that excites me despite the uncertainty of the outcome. While I do not harbor the expectation of achieving the level of success experienced by authors like J.K. Rowling, I have always felt a persistent urge to express myself, particularly regarding the profound themes of grief and loss. This interest has propelled me forward, and I find myself evolving and transforming at this stage of my life. It is a reminder that we are all, in essence, ongoing projects, constantly developing and reshaping ourselves. While I appreciate the opportunity to work from home, I cannot help but miss the vibrant energy that characterized my time at the clinic.
