A Snowy Tuesday Twist

There  was snow in NYC  this morning!  Certainly not the amount of snow thats in  Buffalo or the Midwest,  but  we have been in  a snow drought here.  The snow was  welcome news for me.  I appreciated looking at it fall and cover the ground. I think there is comfort in the first snowfall.  Perhaps it brings me back to some childhood memories when the weather was at least consistent.  As a child, I remember  thinking I can smell the snow coming.  I remembering thinking how white the night sky was.  I remember being excited and running to look at the window at the snow covered street.   If I was lucky they announced on the radio my school was closed. ( I also remember walking to school  in snowstorms...we were tough back then, we trudged to school wearing , a winter coat,  a plaid uniform jumper, plastic red snow boots. A Twist for Pepper

A Twist for Pepper Well, so far it has not been the year I was hoping for.   Yesterday we had to euthanize my oldest cat, Pepper. She was around 14.  Thats a cause for argument here on exactly hold old she was, but nonetheless she was my oldest girl.  My other cats I have,  bullied  her  a lot. She  tended to stay in my room or home office.  She would jump up on my desk and be rather insistent  about it.  I will miss her head bumps for sure.  We shared the same birthday.  She preferred staying alone, but  at Christmas;  she spent a great deal of time staying by the family.  My youngest daughter mused if she was giving us some extra time with her before she crossed the rainbow bridge. Our fury friends. add so much to our lives.   They enrich it with love.  Studies that a cats purring help our blood pressure to go down and ease anxiety. Grief with a pet is different, at least...
